MOOLI ALOO KI THECHWANI

Recently I had visited “Dhanaulti”a beautiful place in Uttrakhand.Where  I  had tasted their dish”Mooli Aloo Ki Thechwani”.The taste  was awesome. I had tried this dish at home after return back and  it came out better.Thechwani is a famous dish of Uttrakhand.Thechwani means crushed into pieces and made with diffrent spices.

INGREDIENTS :

  • Raddish(pahari mooli/normal)-4 medium size
  • Potato-2 medium size
  • Onion -1 medium size
  • Tomato -2 medium chopped
  • Greeen chillies-1 tablespoon
  • Ginger chopped-1 tablespoon
  • Garlic chopped-1 tablespoon
  • Termeric powder-1/2 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder-1 tablespoon
  • Red chilli powder-1 teaspoon
  • Besan(gram flour)-2 tablespoon
  • Mustard oil-3 tablespoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves

METHOD  –

  • Wash raddish,cut into pieces.Then crushed it on sil batta.
  • Then  peeled,wash,cut potatoes and crushed it on sil batta.
  • Heat oil in a pan  and add sliced onion,ginger and garlic paste.Fry till light golden brown.
  • Then add chopped tomatoes and cooked till it get soft.
  • Now add all the spices ,salt and cook for 2/3 minutes.
  • Add crushed raddish ,potatoes and greeen chillies.Cook till it leaves oil.
  • Then add besan ,mix with raddish mixture and cook for two minutes.Then add water and bring it to boil.Low the flame cover and cook for 5/7 minutes  or till raddish and potatoes cooked.

GARNISH WITH CORIANDER LEAVES ,SERVE HOT WITH STEAMED RICE .
