Focaccia Bread

 

Focaccia is a flat oven-baked Italian bread  similar in style and texture to pizza dough. Focaccia can be used as a side to many meals or as sandwich bread.
INGREDIENT:-
  • Multi purpose floor- 2cups
  • Dry Yeast -1 tsp
  • Sugar powder -1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Butter – 2tbsp
  • Lukewarm milk -1/4 cup
  • Lukewarm water -1/2 cup
  • Baking powder-1/2 tsp
  • Vanilla essence -1 tsp
  • Olive oil- 1/2 cup
  • Garlic Chopped -2 tbsp
  • Rosemary(fresh or dried)- 1tbsp
  • Black pepper(crushed)-1/4 tsp
  • Onion(sliced)-1medium
  • Bell peppers-1/2cup
  • Olives-2tbsp
METHOD – 
  • In a pan add half olive oil,rosemary,garlic.Place the pan on low heat,cook for few minutes before garlic browns.Keep aside.
  • In 1/4 cup of milk add sugar powder and yeast & mix well.Cover it & keep in the warm place for 10/15     minutes .We will see the frothy layer on the top.(If frothy layer not seen then discard the mixture).In a bowl combine flour ,salt baking powder & butter & mix well.Then add yeast mixture & mix well .  Water add accordingly.
  • Now knead a soft dough & add vanilla essence.Once kneaded insert a finger tip into the dough.When  it bounce  back clean it means dough is ready. Now cover the dough with damp cloth for 1 hour. After 1 hour dough will rise & double. Now again knead the dough for 5 minutes.
  • Oiled the baking tray with remaining oil,transfer the dough into the baking tray,then press it down  into the tray.Use fingertips to dimple the dough.Then drizzle the dough with olive oil garlic mixture.  Spread bell peppers,onion& olives.Let the dough for proofing for 30 minutes or until the dough risen. Pre heat the oven for 10 minutes at 180 Celsius. Bake Focaccia Bread for 18 to 20 minutes at 180 degree Celsius or till light golden brown.
