KARELA TIKKA
Bitter taste of Bitter Gourd (Karela) have several benefits for improving health and beauty. Karela is an excellent source of healthy nutrients.This one vegetable, is not liked by many because of its bitterness.But the goodness of this recipe is that ,it makes Karela a healthy and tasty dish .MUST TRY…..
INGREDIENTS :
- 250 Grams Karela (Bitter Gourd)
- 2 Tablespoon vinegar
- 1 Teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
FOR MARINATE
- 1 1/2 Cup hung curd
- 2 Tablespoon ginger +garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika powder
- 1 teaspoon dry mango powder(amchur)
- 2 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoon oil
- 1 teaspoon chaat masala
METHOD :
- Firstly scrap the karelas and cut into square pieces(remove seeds)
- Heat water in a pan , put karelas,vinegar,salt and turmeric powder, boil and after 4 minutes drain the water as karelas require normal temperature ,due to this we reduce some nutrition of karelas but still it has more than other vegetables.
- In a bowl take all the ingredients of marination and mix it well ,then add karela (square pieces)
- Leave for 1 to 2 hours in the refrigerator
- Now preheat oven to 200 degree c , place karela pieces in the grilling pan and drizzle oil over them
- Bake karelas 25 to 30 minutes or till they become cooked
- After 15 to 20 minutes when grilling, we can turn the pieces so that there is uniform grilling and drizzle little oil
- Before serving sprinkle chaat masala and lemon juice on karela Tikka
SERVE HOT WITH CHUTNEY AND SLICED ONION
